Enabling monetization on Social Media platforms

INSTAGRAM

To enable monetization on Instagram, you need to meet certain requirements and use specific features of the platform. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Meet the eligibility requirements: To be eligible for monetization on Instagram, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have an Instagram account in good standing with no recent violations of Instagram's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service
  • Have a minimum of 10,000 followers
  • Have a business or creator account
  • Generate original and quality content that complies with Instagram's policies and guidelines.

2. Set up a Creator or Business account: If you haven't already done so, switch to a Creator or Business account to access Instagram's monetization features. You can do this by going to your profile, tapping the three lines in the top right corner, and selecting "Settings" > "Account" > "Switch to Professional Account."

3. Connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page: Instagram monetization is managed through Facebook's Creator Studio, so you'll need to connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page. To do this, go to your Instagram profile, tap "Edit Profile," select "Page," and connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page.

4. Enable Monetization Features: Once your account is set up, you can enable monetization features such as branded content, shopping on Instagram, and IGTV ads. To do this, go to Facebook's Creator Studio, select your Instagram account, and follow the steps to enable the monetization features you want to use.

5. Follow Monetization Guidelines: To keep your monetization features enabled, you need to follow Instagram's monetization guidelines. These guidelines include disclosing branded content partnerships, complying with advertising policies, and avoiding prohibited content such as hate speech, violence, and harassment.

TIKTOK

To enable monetization on TikTok, you must first meet the eligibility criteria for the TikTok Creator Fund. Here's how to do it:

1. Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria: To qualify for the Creator Fund, you must be at least 18 years old, have at least 100,000 followers, and have accrued at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. Your account must also follow TikTok's Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

2. Switch to a Pro Account: If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can switch to a Pro Account by going to your profile and clicking on the three dots in the top right corner. From there, select "Manage Account," and then "Switch to Pro Account." Follow the prompts to complete the process.

3. Opt-in to the Creator Fund: After switching to a Pro Account, you can opt-in to the Creator Fund by going to the "Settings and Privacy" menu and selecting "Creator Fund." Follow the prompts to agree to the Creator Fund Terms and Conditions.

4. Wait for approval: Once you've opted-in to the Creator Fund, TikTok will review your account to ensure it meets their guidelines. Approval can take up to a few weeks, and you'll be notified via a notification if your account has been accepted.

Note that TikTok also offers other monetization options, such as brand partnerships and merchandise sales, which do not require participation in the Creator Fund. However, you will need to find and negotiate these opportunities on your own.

TWITCH

To enable monetization on Twitch, you'll need to become a Twitch Affiliate or Partner. Here are the steps to become a Twitch Affiliate:

1. Fulfil the requirements

  • Stream on Twitch for at least 500 minutes in the last 30 days
  • Stream on at least 7 different days in the last 30 days
  • Reach an average of 3 concurrent viewers or more over the last 30 days
  • Have at least 50 followers.

2. Sign the Twitch Affiliate Agreement: Also provide Twitch with your tax and payment information. Once you're approved as a Twitch Affiliate, you'll be able to start earning revenue.

If you meet even higher requirements, you may be invited to become a Twitch Partner. Twitch Partners have access to additional monetization options, such as custom emotes, channel points, and more.

Becoming a Twitch Partner is a more advanced level of partnership than becoming a Twitch Affiliate. These requirements are:

  • Have a consistent audience of viewers.
  • Stream regularly and often.
  • Have a well-established brand and community on Twitch.
  • Consistently receive high engagement and interaction from your viewers.
  • Meet Twitch's requirements for copyright and community guidelines.

3. Apply to become a Twitch Partner by filling out an application on the Twitch website. The application will ask for information about your channel, your audience, and your streaming goals. You'll also need to provide Twitch with your tax and payment information.

4. Wait for the outcome: Twitch will review your application and may ask for additional information or clarification. If your application is approved, you'll receive an invitation to become a Twitch Partner. As a Twitch Partner, you'll have access to additional monetization options, such as ad revenue sharing, custom emotes, and more.

Note that becoming a Twitch Partner is a competitive process, and not all applicants are accepted. It's important to focus on building your audience, engaging with your viewers, and creating high-quality content in order to increase your chances of being accepted as a Twitch Partner.

FACEBOOK

To enable monetization on Facebook, you must first meet Facebook's eligibility criteria for monetization. Here's how to do it:

2. Meet the eligibility criteria: You must meet Facebook's eligibility criteria for monetization, which includes having at least 5,000 followers, generating at least 30,000 one-minute views on videos that are at least three minutes long, and meeting Facebook's Partner Monetization Policies.

3. Apply for monetization: After meeting the eligibility criteria, you can apply for monetization by going to the Creator Studio and selecting "Monetization" from the menu. You will need to review and agree to Facebook's terms and conditions for monetization, and then you can apply for monetization by submitting your Page for review.

4. Wait for approval: Facebook will review your Page and content to ensure that it meets their eligibility and content policies. Approval can take up to several weeks, and you will be notified via a notification if your Page has been accepted.

5. Choose your monetization options: Once your Page is approved for monetization, you can choose from a variety of monetization options, including ad breaks, brand collaborations, fan subscriptions, Facebook Stars, and fan support. Each option has its own eligibility requirements and revenue sharing models, so you should choose the options that work best for you and your content.
